The EMAS Agency operating under the auspices of CENIA functions as the executive body of the EMAS Programme in the Czech Republic responsible for the agenda of the Council of the EMAS Programme pursuant to the Resolutions of the Government of the Czech Republic No. 466/1998 and No. 651/2002.

The EMAS Agency takes care of all professional and managerial activities related to the EMAS Programme:

• it provides public information on the EMAS Programme and on environmental management,
• it registers organizations with a verified EMAS,
• it keeps the national EMAS Register and maintains other databases related to environmental management,
• it offers a list of certification, verifying and consulting institutions,
• it keeps database of companies possessing ISO 14001 or EMAS,
• performs promotional, educational and publication activities within the EMAS Programme.
